Tung oil is a very popular finish because it is a natural oil derived from the tung nut that dries into the wood surface. Even if you use machinery for cutting most of your joinery, there are some things that are still best done with a handsaw. Being able to saw accurately to a line is a fundamental woodworking skill that can take a lot of practice to get it right, but is well worth the effort.
