The Festool KAPEX Sliding Compound Mitre Saw is a true design innovation. It has unique features many other sliding compound mitre saw do not have, which sets it aside from all others.
Its cutting capacity for panels is 305mm x 88mm, however is uniquely capable of cutting boards such as skirting boards standing upright to a height of 120mm. The dual lasers accurately pinpoints the cut position on both sides of the blade. Cutting trenches to a specific depth is easy to setup, and with the flick of a lever, full depth is achieved without losing the setup, and then flick the switch back for the same set cut depth again. Mitres can be set to 50°L/60°R with bevel angles able to be set to 47° or 46°, giving the ability to do otherwise difficult compound mitres in one go. For those tradesmen moving this onsite, it is lightweight and compact, making it easy to move around. The twin rails give a very smooth sliding action, making cutting at any angle easy, whether that being at 90° or a compound mitre.
