Used to cut fibres on timber when doing joints such as mortices and tenons, the bevels are designed to provide the relief on the correct side of the line for the chisel. Use the outside cutter, positioned on the end of the steel shaft to measure the depth of a mortice to transfer this to tenon, ready for cutting.
