With sharpening of any chisel or blade, repeatability is paramount, speed and ease can also be important. The Veritas Mk.II Honing Guide System gives this, whether you have years of experience or totally new to woodworking. Sharpening by hand can be one of the most frustrating parts of woodworking, getting a single bevel on a blade only a few millimetres thick at a specific angle can be hard. Imagine a way of holding a plane blade or chisel in a way that you get the same bevel sharpened each time, and every time, without taking a lot of time to set up, or by spending hundreds of dollars. Stop dreaming because this is it.
The Veritas® Mk.II Honing Guide camber roller allows blades to sharped with a slight convex curve to them, therefore avoiding the plane tracks that would otherwise occur. The barrel shape to the roller is minimal, and still gives the same support as the standard roller.
Normal blade registration is used with this roller in the same way as for the standard roller.
