For over 15 years, Spiral and Helical cutterheads have been constantly evolving, improving and taking the industry by storm. Multi-edge Solid Carbide Inserts pushed aside the old-style single piece HSS blades, with their quieter cut, smoother finish, reduced tear-out and a vastly increased service life. Each cutting edge is sharper, harder and each last far longer than the HSS straight blade equivalent. With each insert having up to 4 cutting edges (which can be individually rotated if you manage to chip one), the initial cost is long forgotten.
Carbatec Premium Carbide Inserts are designed to fit spiral & true helical head machines that Carbatec sells, but many of these inserts will fit other brand cutterheads as well.
These blades are manufactured to Carbatec specifications to suit the following machines:
- All current model Carbatec TH-X381C & TH-X508C series thicknessers
- All current model Carbatec JN-X150C, JN-X200C & JN-XC300C series jointers
- Jet-HH Helical head thicknessers & jointers
- Powermatic PM-HH Helical head thicknessers & jointers
- SCM machines with 'Xylent' cutterhead
- Any machines fitted with Shelix or Byrd cutterheads as factory standard, or aftermarket fiittment
