The specially designed induction motor features a 2300w input, with 1850w (2.5HP) true output providing plenty of heavy duty power, but all delivered through a standard 10amp power supply - no specific wiring or outlet is required in your workshop! Plug-and-play!
Safety is a key focus for Carbatec, so a left tilting blade means it tilts away from the fence. What does this achieve? It aids in preventing offcut pieces becoming trapped when cutting at angles other than 90°. The riving knife moves up and down with the blade, so when fitted with the included low profile knife, it is always below the level of the blade allowing for trenching style cuts, yet is there for additional safety against kickback caused by a closing cut pinching the back of the blade.
The included overhead guard is clear providing great visibility during the cutting process. Further, this highly efficient guard offers suction right where the dust is being created - all channelled through a heavy steel integrated overhead piped dust system that comes standard with the machine. Inside the cabinet is shrouded and piped to a single rear dust outlet. That single 4" dust port connects to your dust extractor (not included!) and provides simultaneous dust extraction from above and below the table with exceptional efficiency! No separate Shop-Vac or specific reducers required.
A Magnetic NVR Switch is located at the front of the saw and is easily accessible to the operator. The NVR (no volt release) magnetic switching prevents unintentional restart of the machine in the event of power failure when power is restored. It also features a locking mushroom stop.
A fully enclosed cabinet base makes for a stable machine, housing the heavy duty saw chassis and trunnions with directed dust control as mentioned. It also features a built-in mobile base with foot pedal operation should you need to move this machine around your workshop.
This model features a traditional Heavy Duty Steel "Biesemeier Style T-Glide" Lever Lock Fence with HDPE faces that offer little resistance for the workpiece. 30” steel rails (not alloy) give a cut capacity of 762mm to the right of the blade. The fence itself is fully adjustable for parallelism to the table, the blade and in resistance to travel meaning you can tweak it to suit your preference perfectly, while a magnified hairline provides easy to read measurements.
The table is finely ground cast iron, as are the left and right extension wings. These extension wings feature grub screw adjustment for levelling to the main table. The additional right fence extension infill is solid phenolic resin for stability and longevity.
Finally, we've also included a Premium Mitre gauge setup as standard! Fitting into the standard 3/4" x 3/8" T-Slots, this unit features positive locks at 5 degree intervals, an oversized comfortable rubber encased handle and an adjustable alloy extruded fence with flip stop - gone is the cheap basic plastic unit of yesteryear!
Fitting a standard 10" blade (not included) provides 76mm of cutting depth at 90 degrees, on a standard 5/8" arbor. The machine is fully dado capable with a maximum 20.6mm width of cut and a dado table insert has been included.
