It also meets the requirements for SAWSTOP use according to their guidelines (no anti-kickback shoulders and non-solid, two wing chippers).
Dados or rebates offer a great deal of strength to any joint in woodworking. Once setup, a Dado set is possibly the fastest way of cutting dados on Dado capable cabinet saws.
Two 24T outer blades, one left oriented, one right, are coupled with 3 x two-wing chippers and a stack of shims - the shim set included allow cuts between 6.35mm and 23mm (1/4" to 29/32").
CMT’s Precision Dado set offers a splinter free way of creating dados at the right width using a combination of included shims and chipper blades to match the width to the job at hand. Capable of more than just dados to house a shelf, these blades can assist with joints such as half lap joints, box joints (over-sized finger or knuckle joints), tongue and groove joinery, tenons for mortise and tenon joinery as well as so much more. All this makes this set an ideal accessory for any dado friendly table saw.
Safety tip: These blades are not used to cut through the entire depth of the timber, rather only part way through - so push blocks should be used to keep hands and fingers away from the "blind" cut.
*NB: Unlike a single circular saw blade, dado sets can not be used with arbor reducing bushes. It is therefore imperative that you purchase the set with a bore diameter that matches your machine arbor. Available in 5/8" or 30mm bore diameters.
