The Tormek Japanese Waterstone at 4000 grit gives such a smooth finish, honing on the leather honing wheel is not needed or recommended. Having such a fine grit, the wheel is designed only for honing, rather than shaping of the tool, it will not create a new bevel to a blade.

The unique composition of the wheel means it will have a very long life. Cleaning should be done using the fine face if the Stone Grader regularly to ensure its maximum working potential.
