Spirals, flutes and barley twists have always been an issue for wood turners, until now. The Robert Sorby Micro Spiralling Tool has handed back to the turner, the ability to do these previously difficult and time consuming features.
This tool relies on the tool staying at a constant angle, allowing the rotating blade to spin freely, with the teeth engaging into the groove made by the previous cutter each time. This miniature tool in unhandled, so allows for either the shorter or longer handle to be fitted. Being unhandled, also allows anyone to attach these to a shopmade jig of their own.
The photo shows the Spiralling Tool fitted with a handle. Note the handle is sold separately.
