The Veritas® Inset Vise is a low profile clamping mechanism that is designed to sit flush in the bench, and uses the bench dogs to clamp workpieces between for a variety of different tasks. The optional pivoting jaws allows objects to gripped that have non-parallel sides.
At 12.7mm (1/2") tall, 38.1mm (1-1/2") wide, clamping objects with irregular shapes has now become easy to do.
