Rail and Stile joinery makes for a very strong joint due to the larger surface area for gluing, as well as easy alignment of components as they lock together. It also provides a decorative profile to your frame edge. This bit needs to be reconfigured between rail mode and stile mode to create the two components. Simply undo the nut and reverse the positions of the blades to change your cut for matching profiles. The nut secures the assembly each time. Used in a router table, the bearing is set flush with the fence.
