All sets feature replaceable Tungsten Carbide cutters, mounted to Solid Stainless Steel shafts. These are coupled with Stainless Steel Ferrules and solid, smooth European Hardwood handles. They are even supplied in very 'giftable' black storage boxes, as shown. This 3 piece extra long set is specifically designed for deep hollowing work. The oversize shanks offer excellent support while projected well past the tool rest edge, as required in deep hollowing work. The extra long handles allow you to leverage the most balanced support required for such demanding work. The curved necks allow for undercutting of the lip often featured in this type of work. The Tungsten Carbide tips hold an edge far longer than HSS, and can be rotated for a clean sharp edge - then replaced when required. This set features 3 tools - one extra long straight and narrow tool for deep, tight spaces; one shallow swan-neck for initial undercutting or gentle inner curves; and one deep swan neck for deep undercuts. The Tungsten Tips on these tools are all round and 9 mm in diameter for detailed scraping. The shanks are laser etched, solid heavy and thick polished stainless flat bar and 175-210 mm in length, while the handles are also laser etched and 390 mm in length.
