The Robert Sorby Excelsior bowl gouge has the same shaped deep flute as the standard bowl gouge, however the TiN coating adds longevity and an additional hardness to the steel that promotes edge health. Its grind makes it good for heavy profiling cuts and fine, delicate shearing cuts.
