Corner chisels are usually used to clean up the corners of joints like mortices and hinge corners. The back corner of the chisel being 90° makes this task simple. Sharpening is also simple, place the chisel in a vice and hone the inside bevels with a diamond file, ensuring that both sides are done the same so that both sides of the chisel are done the same.
