At a basic level, Disc Sanders are made up of circular sandpaper mounted on a circular plate and are used to smooth timber as well as remove waste material. The workpiece is supported by a table positioned in front of the disc and sanding on the downward side of the disc sander ensures that the timber is driven onto the table by the rotation of the disc.
Disc sanders are perfect for end grain work, shaping corners as well as removing large amounts of waste material quickly (subject to grit selection).
We have taken the basic disc sander, and added some unique features that woodworkers will love.
- The disc itself features a half-guard, so you can avoid those nasty ‘grabs’ as you slide a little too far to the right. This is removable if you want the extra room.
- We re-designed the table adjustment, so you can easily position the die-cast table, right up to the cast iron disc. This helps avoid tear out on the bottom face of your work, and helps prevent small pieces disappearing down the gap.
- A dust port and disc brake are fitted standard and with the brake top mounted for easy access.
- Pre-fitted Hook & Loop discs can be changed with ease.
- The table tilt has also been designed with ease of access for normal sized hands.
- The tilt knobs are position outside the table edges (instead of you fiddling around underneath).
So many new features, and a great build quality.
