Just 4 1/2" long and 1 1/4" wide overall, and weighing just less than 11 oz, this plane is aptly named – it's small and light enough to carry in an apron pocket all day.
Designed with a bevel-up configuration and a fully functional combined feed and lateral adjustment mechanism, it has a finer cutting action than you might expect from such a small tool. This makes it admirably suited for delicate trimming work, especially in applications where a larger plane would be too unwieldy, such as model and instrument making.
The oversized lever cap serves the same purpose as a squirrel-tail handle, registering in the palm of your hand for better comfort and control. The PM-V11 steel blade is just under 7/8 wide. It has a 20° bevel angle; combined with the bed angle of 15°, this gives it an effective cutting angle of 35°.
The plane is made in Canada from cast steel.
